I’ll be honest, I don’t have a lot to report on knitting related news for last week. My focus has been commandeered by saying goodbye to three of my favourite colleagues and news of impending career changes for me in a couple of months. I’m luckier than most, I have at least a couple months heads up but I also have more questions than answers at this point and very little patience with that. I am almost at the point of being decided on what direction I want to go in, and so I will be able and needing to relax back into letting my favourite hobby sooth my frayed edges.
But, despite not working on enough knitting for my liking this past week, I managed to finish Telluride Easy Knit Kimono

And when I say finished, I mean I even crocheted up the seams and sewed in ALL the ends (insert image of a cat hissing right here) – I also updated Ravelry project to “finished” and deleted it from my queue.
I’ve even test worn it for as long as I could bear it (it’s a bit warm to wear it for too long yet), it doesn’t seem to need any fastening, the front stays put and doesn’t slid off my shoulders pulling it open, so far so good. If it needs in future I might add on a couple of ties.
At some point the weather will give way to the murky Fall days (I’m a Spring/Summer girl really, but I do enjoy a bit of moody Fall weather and the opportunity to wear cardigans) so I’m looking forward to that. And thinking further ahead I like the thought I can throw it over another cardigan and it won’t all bunch up under the armpits (another of my pet hates) because of the generous armholes.
The lineup for the coming week – I’ve been itching to start 257-23 Misty Lake Cardigan and #316 Eve Shrug by SweaterBabe. I know I already have 4 WIP’s buuut, it’s been a week in a handbasket and I want to, so there’s that.
Yes, I will likely regret it at some point, but that’s a problem for future Emma 😀
Happy Knitting wherever you are, and I’ll see you next week!
