A little context: I’m at the very tail end of a verrry long de-clutter session, I’ve been through every last thing in the house and oh my gawd it took too too long. I’ve donated / gifted / sold so much stuff we didn’t need / want / love anymore. I won’t lie, it was exhausting and I wanted to dump it all in a skip out the back and set fire to it so many times. BUT, I stuck with it and now the house is feeling much better and my craft room looks nice and cozy.
With one small exception…

I’m still not able to use my sofa – yet. This is the majority of the wool stash I’ve kept that I want to make something with quite soon. Some projects have already been started back in the spring. I’ll do a little catch-up on that as I post about my progress. Ultimately my goal is to enjoy knitting or crocheting it all up, and put it in my wardrobe as cozy wearables, simultaneously freeing up some space on my sofa where it’s taken up residence right now.
I’ve given myself something of a “deadline” which is mid-November-ish. When the weather draws in I can squidge myself onto the sofa, making like a cocoon with my kindle/planner, knitting – and snacks of course – in view of my pc monitor to stream movies/youtube playlist. I’ve got a cape on my list I can’t wait to wear whilst cocooning – but it will only be after some other projects are made and I have the “leftovers” to make the cape with. As you can probably tell, I have some work to do and not much time to waste…
So, a few weeks ago I spent some brain power and some time on identifying 1. what I had, 2.what I’d like to wear and 3. what gaps I had in my wardrobe, and 4. whether what I had in my stash would make anything resembling what I had in mind. I think I got it fairly close. After several re-works, false starts on tension squares, and sometimes entire re-thinks, I have my Ravelry list I’m quite excited about.. If you’re a member already you should be able to view it. For non members here’s a sneak peek:

Over the coming weeks you should see more of the the individual projects I’m making as I post.
I’m using the list as just a guideline, because I know I’m likely going to change my mind about some of it, if I do I’m just going to roll with that..
Where we’re at right now, just about coming into the last week or so of August, and here in the UK the temperature is showing signs of changing to fall, so I have a suspicion that some of the summer items may slide onto next spring’s list. We will see. I want to get at least two warmer weather finished for any warm days we have left.
So, next I want to dive back in. For the next week, my intention is to work on these three projects:
Oversized Hug – Drops Design (dark grey), Telluride Easy Knit Kimono – Jessica Reeves Potasz (light grey), and Forest Whispers – Drops Design (purple)
Of course, there’s no guarantee I will get to all of these. I will report back hopefully Friday next week (29th August).. see you then 🙂
